The main objective of the lab is to perform research in the field of electronic health, research interests and activities cover the areas of: 

Medical Image Analysis and Processing:
(a) Analysis of Ultrasound images of the carotid arteries in order to predict the risk of stroke

Intelligent Medical Decision Support:
(a) Assessment of the risk of stroke based on ultrasound images and clinical data
(b) MRI Image Analysis in Multiple Sclerosis Subjects for the prognosis of future disability
(c) Diagnosis of children with acute abdominal pain 
(d) Osteoporosis risk assessment

E-health Systems and Services:
(a) Wireless telemedicine systems for emergency health care support
(b) Monitoring children with suspected cardiac arrhythmias
(c) Speech and Language development support system

Robotics:
(a) High Intensity Focused Ultrasound support robot

Over the last 10 years, the team has participated in 19 projects that obtained funding from competitive calls. Members of the team were lead partners in 5 projects.
