Short Bio

Dr Harris Papadopoulos is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Frederick University and a Visiting Fellow of the Computer Learning Research Centre of Royal Holloway, University of London, UK. He obtained a B.Sc. (first Class Hons) degree in Computer Science and a Ph.D. degree in Machine Learning from Royal Holloway, University of London, Surrey, UK, in 1999 and 2004 respectively. His main research interests focus on the development of machine learning techniques that accompany their predictions with measures of confidence and on the application of such techniques to medical and engineering problems. He has published more than 40 research papers in international refereed journals and conferences in the field of AI. He has been involved in several funded research projects, in two of which he was the Principal Investigator, with a total budget of more than 800,000 euro. He served as program committee co-chair of six international conferences and was the main organizer of seven international workshops. He also served or is currently serving as guest editor of eight journal special issues and as a reviewer for numerous scientific journals including IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine, Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Neurocomputing and Information Sciences
