(a) High Intensity Focused Ultrasound support robot

Design and development of positioning devices with the ability to accurately move a High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) transducer guided by a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner in order to create discrete and overlapping lesions in different biological tissues. HIFU technology can be utilized as a non-invasive therapeutic choice to treat tumours and can be applied to target and ablate organs accessible by HIFU such as kidney, liver, pancreas, thyroid, prostate, uterine fibroids, breast, and brain.  HIFU also, it may be employed in treating other diseases like Parkinson’s disease, neuropathic pain essential tremor, ischemic stroke, drug delivery and reviving heart operation.
